New Post

"We need help and the post office pays well."

People often overlook the "people in our neighborhood" as Mister Rogers would call them. Their presence is so common that we don't always notice them until they're gone for a day or two. These are people like sanitation workers, delivery drivers and postal workers. Of course people know they exist and that they're there to do a job but because their presence is sort of in the background of daily life we may not give their jobs much thought.

There's the thought that "someone has to do it" when it comes to the service they provide but sometimes that "someone" is you. Or at least it could be you, especially after hearing how much one of those jobs pays. A mailman that works for the U.S. Postal Service decided to share his paycheck with social media in an attempt to help the post office recruit more mail carriers.

Hint: it involves the shower.

Actress Nicole Kidman, 57, and country singer Keith Urban, 57, have a Hollywood marriage that has stood the test of time. The couple, who both hail from Australia, wed in 2006. They share two daughters together: Sunday Rose and Faith. So what has sustained their relationship for nearly two decades? In a new interview with W Magazine, Kidman spilled on how she and Urban have remained strong--and it involves their bathroom.

When asked by the publication if she sings in the shower, she replied: “I do. I also hear Keith singing in the shower, and I’ll hear his new songs forming. We have a double shower."

"I saved all of them throughout the years."

If there's one thing I know about dads, it's that we love a ritual. Even better if those rituals involve a catchphrase. We like saying and doing the same things over and over. We repeat stories, slogans, and words of wisdom (not to mention jokes) as often as possible, often to the chagrin of our spouses and children.

Dads are simple creatures, really. We have one or two messages we want to get across and we tend to hammer them home relentlessly, almost to the point where you're beginning to think they've lost all meaning. But, at this story proves, they never do.

His first email may end up being the best one he ever gets.

An X post by a new father has been making other new parents take note online. It’s regarding a gift and investment he wishes to give his newborn son for when he gets older. It’s not a savings bond. It’s not a car. It’s not even an heirloom. It’s an email address.

@Mellumjr on X shared that he created a new email address for his son. He intends on sending every photo and achievement his child has made to that email address then giving his son the password to that email address when he gets older. This way, the child can have a time capsule full of memories and thoughts from his father during that time to look through and read.
